What is a QuEST?
Several years ago, as our children were young, they were assigned to give talks and
spiritual thoughts. As we live in a small Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this opportunity came very often.
One day our oldest daughter asked my wife what she needed to put into her talk. What she was looking for was the minimum. What did she have to put in to consider it a complete talk.
My wife is one of the brightest people on the face of the earth; she was also an elementary teacher and a seminary teacher at that time, so she was not going to be fooled into giving an easy answer to my daughter. The answer that she gave, however, became a standard in our home and is the basis for this book. She told her that for her talk, and every talk, she needed to have a quote, an experience or story, a scripture and a testimony. We shortened this into Quest.

Many years later, we had six missionaries serving from our Branch in many parts of
the world. These six included our youngest
son, Drew. Because this was such a
special time for our Branch, I wanted to do something special for these
missionaries. I decided that while they
were serving, I would send them a spiritual thought every week in the form of a
Quest. As a result, these quests were
started.
I have continued to create them and send them, every week, to my nieces and
nephews who are serving missions, as well as any missionaries serving from our
Branch.
I just thought I would share them with you.
I hope they are useful for those times when you need a spiritual thought
or a start for a talk.
